37 hours per week – annual salary scale SCP 23 – 27 (£21,268 – £24,174)
Home-Start is a voluntary organisation committed to promoting the welfare of families with at least one child under 5 years of age, through recruiting and training volunteers to provide family support.
We have a vacant post available for a full time Co-ordinator, who will assist in developing the scheme locally, assessing the needs of families, recruiting, training, matching, supporting and supervising home visiting volunteers. The post holder will also assist in the delivery of the volunteer preparation course and will need to liaise closely with various statutory and voluntary organisations. Some evening and weekend work may be required. Ultimately employed by our Board of Trustees, the Co-ordinator will report to the senior members of staff.
Essential requirements include:
- Experience of caring for young children
- Experience of working with families and/or volunteers
- Ability to deliver presentations, training and support to volunteers
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Understand confidentiality and professionalism in the workplace
- Car driver/owner (expenses will be paid)
References will be taken up and the post will be subject to an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service Check. The post is subject to a satisfactory probation period.
