Home-Start Kirklees has 4 new vacancies available. All posts are substantive and those full-time are open to job share.

We are currently recruiting for:

Home-visiting Co-ordinator      

37 hours per week – annual salary scale SCP 23 – 27 (£21,693 – £24,657 pro rata, increasing to SCP 24 £22,401 at the end of a probationary period)

We have a vacant post available for a Co-ordinator, who will assist in developing the scheme locally, assessing the needs of families, recruiting, training, matching, supporting and supervising home visiting volunteers. The post holder will also assist in the delivery of the volunteer preparation course and will need to liaise closely with various statutory and voluntary organisations. Some evening and weekend work may be required. The Co-ordinator will report to the senior members of staff.

Essential requirements include:

  • Experience of caring for young children
  • Experience of working with families and/or volunteers
  • Ability to deliver presentations, training and support to volunteers
  • Ability to work as part of a team with supervisory support
  • Understand confidentiality and professionalism in the workplace
  • Car driver/owner (expenses will be paid)
  • Experience of working with vulnerable groups and ensuring safeguarding practice is embedded and adhered to.

 

Group Co-ordinator (2 posts)

37 and 18 hours per week – annual salary scale SCP 23 – 27 (£21,693 – £24,657 pro rata, increasing to SCP 24 £22,401 at the end of a probationary period)

We have two vacant posts available for a Group Co-ordinator, who will assist in assessing the needs of families, recruiting, training, supporting and supervising volunteers and peer educators. The post holders will be responsible for the organisation and running of young parent’s group sessions within Kirklees.  The post holders will deliver user friendly sessions within groups and be competent in assisting attendees in addressing some of the issues young parents face.   The post holders will also assist in the delivery of the volunteer preparation course and will need to liaise closely with various statutory and voluntary organisations. Some evening and weekend work may be required. The Group Co-ordinators will report to the senior members of staff.

Family Support Worker

22 hours per week – annual salary scale SCP 18 – 21 (£18,870 – £20,541 pro rata increasing to SCP 19 £19,446 at the end of a probationary period)

We have a vacant post available for a Family Support Worker, who will assist in the delivery of the young parent’s groups weekly sessions and also home visit families in need of support. The post holder will also assist parents in accessing other services and work in partnership with key agencies that support parents. The post will be line managed by a senior member of staff. The Family Support Worker/ Group Worker will need to be well organised and prepared to offer often intense support to a vulnerable group of service users.

Essential requirements include:

  • Positive parenting experience
  • Experience of working with families
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Understand confidentiality and professionalism in the workplace
  • Car driver/owner (expenses will be paid)
