Who We Are

For the last 25 years, Home-Start Kirklees has worked across our communities to provide support for families with young children who are experiencing difficulties.

We recruit and train Volunteers to offer practical and emotional support for families who are struggling to cope with family life for a variety of different reasons.

What We Do

Home-Start Kirklees’ volunteers and paid staff work alongside families to give support to help people regain the confidence to be the parents that they want to be. The support we provide is non-judgemental, compassionate and confidential. We work with families to build on their strengths and give them the support that they tell us they need and will work best for them. Our Volunteers support parents/carers in their own homes or in the local community to help cope with stress and pressure and to make sure that they have the skills, confidence and resilience to improve family life and their circumstances.

The support we offer is as individual as the families we help.
